Golf’s Damien Week Of Giving Page

Hi all,

Damien Golf has enjoyed much success over the years, earning 5 CIF Regional/Divisional Titles, multiple League Titles, and a trip to the 2006 State Championship. It has been a fine program with the highest standards of integrity and sportsmanship. The program is about to enter a transitionary period as I, the coach, have decided it is finally time for me to step back from coaching after 33 years. I’m not a spring chicken any more and for a variety of reasons, mostly personal, I am retiring from coaching golf.

The school will have to find a new coach for the team and my hope here for the Week of Giving is that we can set up the new coach with the resources to be successful from the very beginning. We had good specific suppport for the golf program, a very small program, at the very recent Athletic Golf Tournament. I know the week of giving is really close to the tournament campaign, but this year is different for golf because the program will have a new coach going forward.

Let’s help whoever it is to get off to a good start!!! Thank you for your support.

Personally, I would like to thank EVERYONE who has lent their support to Damien High School over the years, especially golf. We’ve had a good run and it’s time to enter a new era.

By the way, I had a hole-in-one on my last day as coach at competition. Talk about a sign that it’s time!!! What a way to finish!!!
